Prof. Vancheri is one of France's leading scholars of the aesthetics and politics of film. He is the author of ten books, including works on Renoir, Hitchcock, Ford, film form, and the relations between the cinema and visual culture at large.

2. “De Vénus à la Vierge Marie. Le christianisme tardif de Jean Renoir”: This lecture presents a new political-theological interpretation of Jean Renoir's masterpiece reflection on war, social class and commitment, La Grande Illusion (1937). Lecture in French, discussion bilingual.
